Well done to Avanti Park for being awarded their Eco-Schools Green Flag again!

One of the highlights was the completion of the Eco-Schools Environmental Review, which not only showcased the schools鈥� achievements in Healthy Living but also illuminated areas for growth, such as mindfulness of marine issues. From creating a tranquil 鈥渮en zone鈥� in the playground to eliminating single-use plastics, our students have demonstrated an admirable commitment to the Eco-Schools ethos.

Their well-thought-out goals include researching the implementation of a water butt, establishing a bike shelter, and exploring the impact of food waste. The inclusion of hands-on projects within the curriculum鈥攍ike Forest School lessons for KS2 students and participation in Climate Change Week鈥攈as helped cultivate a culture of sustainability, ensuring our children understand the importance of environmental stewardship.鈥�

鈥淭he collaboration with local organizations such as Cornpop Critters and Frome Town Council has strengthened their community ties, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature and its preservation. The Eco-Committee鈥檚 innovative use of notice boards and posters has successfully informed and engaged our wider community, encouraging everyone to join our eco-movement.鈥�
